Clinical Pilates

At Performance Physiotherapy we specialise in the use of Pilates both as an exercise form and a clinical rehabilitation tool alongside our physiotherapy skills. 

As physiotherapists we are trained to carry out a thorough in-depth assessment of your clinical history. This includes looking at previous injuries, as well as current movement habits, and then evaluating how the combination of these things has impacted on how your body currently chooses to move. we combine hands on therapy with Pilates to build a holistic plan to facilitate your recovery or sports performance.

Our clients range from: Olympic athletes looking to improve how they move, those who are recovering from surgery or musculoskeletal injuries such as low back pain or anybody who is generally looking to feel better whether exercise related or not.

Getting started

If you are new to our clinic and looking to begin Pilates classes we will start your journey with a 1:1 assessment with one of our Chartered Physiotherapist. This appointment will help us fully understand your needs and help us place you into an appropriate class. Our Benefits

What makes Performance Physio different?

Our classes follow a clinical approach. Our practitioners have a unique blend of physiotherapy and extensive Pilates training. This allows us to use exercise as a treatment tool to maximise the benefit to you be it in addressing an injury or to improve your sports performance.

In our fully equipped Pilates Studio we offer both individual and group Pilates sessions. We will guide you through our rehabilitation on our specialised Pilates equipment and will teach you modifications that you can take home.

Reformer Pilates

Studio Pilates are available as 1:1 or group classes.

Mat Pilates

Studio Pilates are available as 1:1 or group classes. These run online & in studio.

Osteoporosis 

Our bone health classes are available as 1:1 or group classes.

Antenatal Exercise

Prenatal Pilates classes are available as 1:1 sessions.

Reformer Classes

Our regular reformer class is an intermediate level class, we will gradually challenge you to build on the beginners/ fundamental repertoire of exercises. Progress through the fundamental exercise series at a slightly slower pace to enable you to build both your strength and movement quality.

Other Classes

We have Mat and Bone Health Classes currently running online and in the studio. Our Ante/Post Natal classes run in a 1:1 appointment unless you are a current member of our classes. Please get in touch for more information.

This is a class designed for you if you are currently playing sport or have been attending our classes for some time. We will use the class to facilitate your recovery, flexibility and strength for sport.

Designed for you if you have a current diagnosis of osteoporosis. We take in to consideration best evidence in relation to exercise choice to facilitate your balance, strength and bone health.

This class is designed for the growing body. With our understanding of common injuries during adolescence we use this class to help build your strength and flexibility for your sport, dance or everyday activities.

The PhysiApp

Physiapp is a system that allows us to create and prescribe an exercise program for you.

Pre-Pilates Form

Before you join our online or in-person classes we do require a little more information to help us find the right class option for you. We will follow up with you as soon as possible and will do our best to accomdate you where posssible.
